In addition to my day job (which pays the bills), I have a little side business called "Kris Lancia Designs" in which I design, handcraft, and sell jewelry. I specialize in Swarovski Crystal and silver designs that are simple, classic, and perfect for any special occasion. Whether that special occasion is a wedding, prom, or night out with your significant other. I personally think every day should be treated as a special occasion, so I wear my pieces daily with my jeans! It's the same idea as saving your china or "good" towels or whatever. I think you should live every day like it's your last, and never be afraid to use or wear anything that puts a smile on your face.
I just finished designing some BRAND NEW pieces for 2012, that I am going to unveil at THE UNIVERSITY OF SCRANTON'S HOLIDAY CRAFT FAIR on THURSDAY DECEMBER 1st FROM 11-3PM in THE DeNAPLES CENTER ON MULBERRY ST. IN SCRANTON.
Since I have photos of the new pieces, I thought it would be nice to post them here!
The "Astrea" and "Psyche" styles were inspired by Greek Goddesses, continuing with my Greek Goddess Collection. "Astrea" was known as
"The Star Maiden", and she was the goddess of innocence, justicy, and purity.
"Psyche" was the "most beautiful woman on earth" who later became Cupid's wife, giving her the "goddess" title. The
story of Cupid & Psyche is really very entertaining to read.
The "Zelda" style was inspired by the "Roaring Twenties" and it's namesake, Zelda Fitzgerald (F. Scott Fitzgerald's wife and the inspiration for some of his notorious female characters - they did not have the best relationship. F. Scott Fitzgerald is best known for his novel, "The Great Gatsby"). You can read all about Zelda Fitzgerald, dubbed "The First American Flapper"
