Who's In Your Backyard?

One of my Christmas gifts from Ralph this past year was an outdoor mountable bird camera with night vision.  I realize it's May, but we only finally got it working (it helps to have the setting on picture instead of test).  We set it up next to the fence in our back yard.  When we saw the first set of photos it captured, we couldn't believe our eyes (I believe I may have even done a little happy dance)!  Here they are...

The Bird Cam captured mostly turkey photos since they are constantly in our backyard.

It's awesome to have such close up photos of our gobbler friends since they are pretty skittish when we're near.

Birds of a feather flock together...

Turkey Butt!  I wish the camera would capture a picture of a Tom in strut.

Well, hello there!

The mystery visitor!  We're thinking maybe a raccoon?  Any guesses?

Here's a cat who Remy was hissing at through the window earlier that day.

Apparently, he or she made the same rounds later that night.
Better be careful, there's a lot of animals in these woods at night!

Deer Butt! Heading right to the side of the house for a middle of the night snack of my hostas.

Hopefully we'll get a front view of the deer at some point!

I saved the best for last...yowza!!

That's our friend, Bernard.  I would prefer we stay long distance friends.

And here is the real finale...look for it, look for it...squirrel tail!!

I love the Bird Cam!!!  More photos to come...

Crikey! It's A Bun!

Here we are again...on the hunt for the elusive Bun.  A creature highly skilled at blending into his surroundings.  Many times, while on the hunt, we can be in the same room with The Bun and not even know it.  He's a tricky one but we've spotted him at last...

This seems like an innocent view of me at my computer.  But, if you look in the background,
on top of the cabinets to be exact, you will spot The Bun!  A good tip to remember
when on the hunt for The Bun is to make sure you look up, as he does like his heights!
We're already on the trail of The Bun so be sure to tune in when we track him down!  Where will he be next??!

Meet "The Bun"...

Anyone who knows me knows that I am OBSESSED with my cat, Remy.  He is more than just a cat or a pet, he is my family.  I call him my fur-son, and that is what he is...my adopted child who happens to have fur.  I consider him one of my best friends and he makes every day better just by being.  We adopted him from the Humane Society when he was just 8 weeks old and he's been with us every day since.  We celebrated his 2nd birthday this past September 10th.

To Ralph and I, Remy is most commonly referred to as, "The Bun".  The name came about because Remy's favorite way to sit when he was a kitten was in what we called, "the bunny pose".  He would sit on his belly with all four paws tucked up underneath him so that he looked like a little bunny.  The name just stuck and, over time, got shortened to "The Bun".  It's along the same lines as "The Beave", from Leave It To Beaver or "The Fonz" from Happy Days.  And considering that The Bun is always up to something, the name suits him well.
